Soluble fiber from psyllium husk forms a gel when mixed with liquid. Recently, studies have shown that psyllium husk is effective in lowering total cholesterol and may reduce the risk of heart disease.
As a dietary supplement, take 3-4 psyllium husk capsules 3 times daily with a full 8 oz glass of water before or after meals.
