RNA/DNA
DNA and RNA, made from nucleic acid bases, are the building blocks of life. The body normally makes nucleic acid bases from the amino acids and nutrients found in our diet. However, in some cases, the body does not make enough DNA and RNA bases to support the needs of the tissues and organs. In these cases, several studies have shown dramatic benefits that can arise with nucleic acid supplements.
DNA/RNA nutritional supplement specifically provide extra dietary nucleic acid bases to help maintain the health, development and function of the body. In addition, it contains the energy molecule ATP and the anti-aging substance TMG. Taken together, DNA/RNA is one of the most exciting nutritional supplements available today.
Importance of DNA and RNA
DNA contains the information needed for our bodies to grow, develop and function. The information code in the DNA in the cell nucleus is transcribed to RNA, which is then translated to all the different enzymes and proteins which actually make the body grow and function. This DNA-to-RNA-to-protein process makes possible the vast diversity of life on earth.
The body makes DNA and RNA from nucleic acid bases. These nucleic acid bases are usually made up from the amino acids, vitamin cofactors and enzymes in our diet in the correct proportions and locations in the cells.
Recent evidence indicates that the body is often not able to make enough DNA and RNA to protect, repair and regenerate cells to their optimum function. This is especially true for cells with high turnover rates, such as the intestinal lining that may fully replace itself every week. And it is especially true in times of stress when the demand for greater cell activity becomes acute, particularly for cells in the immune system. When demand exceeds production capacity, DNA and RNA base components as a supplement can become essential nutrients for maintaining health.
Numerous published scientific studies indicate very significant health benefits from DNA and RNA supplementation. Almost every system of the body has shown improved health, vitality or function from DNA and RNA supplements, from infancy to advanced age. In other words, DNA and RNA bases given as a supplement can be very powerful aids to maintaining the health of practically every aspect of our bodies and their development.
Different Types of DNA and RNA
The DNA in DNA/RNA is not the chains of DNA that form the familiar double helix and which provide basic genetic information, but the individual bases of DNA that do not contain sequence information. The bases are simply building blocks, and are nutritional, not informational. Their small molecular size makes them highly and rapidly absorbable, greatly increasing their ability to be assimilated and used in cells and tissues throughout the entire body. They are very safe and help the body repair and rebuild the DNA and RNA needed for health and cell regeneration.
Added Benefits of ATP and TMG
DNA/RNA also contains ATP and TMG. ATP stands for adenosine triphosphate, perhaps the most important of all the nucleic acid derivatives. Virtually every activity in the body that requires energy - from building complex molecules to allowing muscle fibres to contract for mobility, speed and strength - uses ATP as the source of power. In addition, ATP is indicated in learning, memory and concentration, the function of the nervous system and pain relief, as well as the performance of muscles, the lungs and the immune system.
DNA/RNA also contains trimethylglycine or TMG. TMG has an important role to play in determining the rate of aging. Aging is regulated and programmed by the gradual loss of methyl groups from nuclear DNA. Smoking, poor nutrition, poor vitamin intake, low exercise, and environmental toxin absorption, for example, all accelerate methyl group loss. TMG donates three sources of methyl and as such is a powerful regulator of the rate of aging.
Safety
DNA/RNA has an excellent safety profile. The levels of nucleic acids fall within the internationally approved safety guidelines for supplementing nucleic acids.
In addition, the ATP, TMG are extremely safe and beneficial to people of all ages. The one precaution is for people with elevated uric acid or gout. The purine nucleic acids adenine and guanine in DNA/RNA are metabolized to uric acid in the body. As such, there is a slightly increased risk of gout when taking nucleic acid supplements even though the specific quantities of purine bases in DNA/RNA are well below those usually associated with an increased risk of elevating uric acid.
In addition, some people find that they are highly energized with DNA/RNA and may have difficulty falling asleep if they take it too late in the day.
It is always advisable to consult your practitioner before beginning any new nutritional program.
